...and I'm betting a lot of really important data will be left unstated.

None of the (okay, I won't say it) appraisers are going to be honest about the $225.00 fees they're getting from Proteck, PVC, or whatever crud AMC they're prostituting themselves with, come on.

Best,

Dave...

I just took it too! Makes you wonder how there is any sort of reliable C&R guidelines seeing how this is the first time any sort of seemingly official IDFPR poll has been taken (to my knowledge). Perhaps if IDFPR made this mandatory like cont education and licensing stuff it would be a little more reliable and seem like they actually had our best interest at hand.

The survey would be far more meaningful if AMCs handed over invoices. Hoo wee, then you'd really see something.

Dave...

I got the initial email a couple days ago that the link to the survey would be coming, but have yet to receive the link to the survey.

Oh, the results are going to be glorious, too!

The survey will show everyone is making $400.00+ per report and then they'll be scratching their heads wondering why anyone's complaining about fees in the first place.

If they aren't auditing invoices the study is not for real.

Dave...

I can help the survey, if they like. I get appraisals all the time, so I know what "real" C & R is here in Illinois.

For example, today I received an appraisal done for ACT Appraisal, a hack AMC if ever there was one. 8 comps, the appraiser got $250.00. THAT is the unspoken C & R that this survey will never know, as no one working for chump change like that will ever admit it.

Worthless study.

Oh, and he got the zoning wrong. Stunner.

Dave...

I have only glanced at the Illinois C&R fee survey, but, I recall that the fees that appraisers are asked to report are for NON-AMC assignments.

Since all of our fees are (non-AMC), that's fine. However, wouldn't you say the majority of typical 1004s are being done through AMCs?

And if so, what's real C&R?

The interest is in learning what the typical non-AMC fee is. Yes, the typical appraisal for lending is quite likely with an AMC as the client, but, the purpose of the survey is not to learn what AMCs pay appraisers.

Understood, but the purpose, as I understood it, was to ultimately discern C&R. C&R is not a subset of C&R. At least that was my understanding.

That's all I'm saying, Lee.
