With the house getting closer to being finished we have added Mortgage Financing to our list of "To Do's". Knowing that there is not that much difference in the actual Mortgage I wanted to deal with someone that deals with me.
I looked through my customers for the year and realized there is only three local and fairly regualr customer. None of the local Mortgage Co. will use me as an Appraiser so danged if I am going to give them my Mortgage Business.
The biggest is a USDA office and they only make low income loans. Another one I wouldn't deal with because I know what idiots they are. Takes them forever to close a loan and in talking to the homeowners I have heard several times that they wouldn't use her again. Shame is it is my Banks Mortgage Co and I have a great relationship with one of the Loan Officers. Matter of fact they have my construction loan.
Third one is 40+ miles away and doesn't do much work in my area but they send me all their work in my area. I like dealing with them so I will talk to them and see what they can do. Of course that means they will have to find another appraiser in this area to do my loan with.
Other option is dealing with some out of state phone lender and I like dealing face to face with someone.
Being on the other side of the Appraisal/Loan Process is going to be interesting. My LTV will be low so that's really a formality. it's going to be interesting to see how another Appraiser will handle my house. Kind of wants me to send them to the local Skippy so I can finally get my hands on one of his Appraisals!
