First, I'd like to thank all of you that answered the questions of the Inman News reporter.

It was a little crazy yesterday while I was trying to send the questions out to various forumites, knowing I would never be able to get them to all that I would have liked to. I hope that anyone I missed, since I can no longer remember who I sent what to, will forgive me.

Some of you that did answer them sent a copy of what you wrote to me. I've put them all into a folder so we can use these answers for future inquiries as needed instead of having to write it all each time. If anybody else wants to send theirs to me, please do. PM or email me through my profile if you don't already have my email address.

What struck me as I was reading the responses was how very similar they were with no coaching from anyone!!! Let's hope this reporter tells it like it really is!

My question for all here is, do you think it would be a good idea to set up these same questions, each in their own thread, here for all to post their answers? That way, the next time a reporter asks, we will have ready answers immediately. I'm also thinking this would be valuable for all to send to various media outlets and regulators.

I think a separate thread for each question that as many appraisers can answer would be great, Pam. Is there a way to make a sub folder or designated section for these questions and the questions the reporter will respond with?

Daff ..... Don't ever make fun of Kate again .... :o

Yes Pam, but only if we let Tim & Kate get into a poll war again by posting the differing categories of the questions. Maybe it could be up to them to come up with some ideas for questions as well.

I think that would be great. I think it would give them a better idea of how wide ranging the problem really are. It would also be a quick response from appraisers.

I know Sen. Schultz (state senator) from Wisconsin call me to day looking for more information. His office was one I sent the articles to.

My bad, I typed that as I was headed out the door. I spell checked, but did not proof read. :rainfro:

I edited, but your quote can't be edited, darn it.

My name is Jann Swanson and I write a regular column for a mortgage/real estate web site, www.mortgagenewsdaily.com. I was referred to you by a reader who liked a couple of columns about appraisals that I wrote a few weeks ago (although my report about methodology was questioned and I am still trying to reconcile my experience with what was claimed.)

I am now doing a series of articles, the first of which will probably be posted today, about the lender pressure issue, with a focus on the Demos Report. I would be interested in hearing some ancedotes about this from your membership. I know that there are plenty on the site, but do not want to quote without permission or in any way abuse my ability to access this site. I want to be able to quote anonymously but be able to identify the location of the respondent in general terms (i.e. Bay Area, South Florida, etc.) I would also be interested in quotes from contrarians or successful strategies for combating this pressure.

Please feel free to invite responses to me at my e-mail address (Cumberlandcom@yahoo.com)

Thank you.

I read the column today, and the previous ones. Most seem fair and that you point out errors on the appraisal are appropriate.

Pleae feel free to ask specific questions of the participants here. This group is not known for being shy an I am sure you can get quotes from many that you may get permission to use.

Jann, I read today's article and even posted a response. Feel free to quote me and you can even email me direct: OKey30@comcast.net

While I don't speak for all appraisers, I do feel that I've got a good feel of the pulse, as much as most, since I've more than 20 years in appraising that followed over 6 years in sales.

Like I posted on your blog, thank you and I hope this doesn't die a fast death from your side of article publishing.
