nowhere in the HVCC or the Dodd Frank Act does it say that the agent – or anyone else except the loan officer and production staff – can talk to an appraiser. Many appraisers either misinterpret these rules or purposely lump agents in so they do not have to talk to them.​

I had a loan officer ask me if I was violating rules by talking to him as the bank were telling the loan officers to avoid discussing the appraisal with the appraiser....2 way street.
