Hello,
I have an interview with Contra Costa Co for a junior appraiser position and have never been interviewed for a job. Does anyone have any insight as to what questions will be asked? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

You should probably bone up on what that department does and research the differences between that type of work and what you already know about appraising. The fundamentals will be the same and being conversant on those fundamentals (principles and concepts) will demonstrate your ability to relate to and assimilate their approach to appraising.

Go back and review the Cost Approach and look into the online availability of the handbooks the state agencies use.

Most of your competition will be trying to think of the job as being a variation of the work they do for the AMCs. You don't want to use that approach or be "that guy".

They will probably ask you for the definition of value. Since they will be taping, possibly, filming the interview, get ready to be a star & think on your feet.

That is a unit of government, right? Market value for assessing purposes, tax purposes, market value for eminent domain purposes. If yo aren't rattled by the questions, that will be an important part of the interview. If you are temporarily confused, just keep asking clarifying questions until you catch the point they are trying to get at. Be a tiger, a careful tiger. JMO. Listen to a variety of views.
