I am renewing my trainee license in California. I read that proof of continuing eduaction needs to only be provided every 4 years. So I did not include my continuing education in the renewal packet. After 72 days, I received in the mail a notice that I did not include a 7 hour national USPAP course completion. If this course was not completed prior to the expiration of the license (which happened to be on 11/23/04), a fee of $125.00 will be added.
My question is this: why do they note that proof of continuing education is needed every 4 years, yet they are hitting me up with just the USPAP after 2 years? Isn't the USPAP considered continuing education? I am in the process of completing 4 years worth of continuing education right now (which includes USPAP) meaning I will have to show proof of that soon and pay another $125 to OREA. Is there any way around this fee as their confusing requirements for license renewal & poor turn around time are extremely difficult to decifer & perform in a timely manner?
