The last time I checked (a while ago) a "typical"cost for concrete block perimeter skirting on a double wide was about $5000. Anybody seen any recent cost info regarding these?

For rough estimates 2.5 to 3 times the cost of the material (blocks & foundation) Local contractors use this for simple jobs. Blocks 94 cents MH 26x50 =156' perimeter
foundation for block (to local code) 3cf per foot 156x3=468/27cf/ydx$100/yd=$1733
Blocks 4 rows (rows by local code) (156x4x12"/ft)/16"/block= 468 block x $0.94=$440
1733+440=$2113 material x 2.5 = $5283 or 3x2113= $6,339

This generally comes close in rural areas for most new construction when you do not have a line item in a book.

Doug,

call any local mason and ask their price per linear foot. Last time I checked in my area it was around $24 but much has changed in the economy since then.

Thanks. $5000 still seems like a ballpark figure

btw, Marshall and Swift is way low on this. They say $2747 for a 1620 sqft doublewide of average quality.

I'd check with the local MH dealer. They know what most of those costs will be.

I'd say about $50 per linear foot. A 48 x 24 job would be about $7,200. At least in NorCal or thereabouts.

Perhaps I'm in the wrong profession!

Maybe MS thinks it's a low rider...:D

I was just going by memory. It's been 3 or 4 years since I did an MH appraisal.

So I used NADA to see what a concrete perimeter foundation would cost out at for a 48 x 24 (1152 sf.)

I never cease to be surprised at the number of folks who value Manf. housing without benefit of the NADA connect software. Neither M & S nor NBC are used by any MH dealer I know. As a contributory factor on a farm, Connect is usually dead on when allocating values from a sale.
