This is an admendment to HR 3837. I think it is much needed and we can thank MR. Cuomo for this one. He caught the Fed with their pants down. I find it funny to read TAVMA response to the bill. I have copied and pasted the LSI fee reduction and some of the contracts I have seen to my congressman. I suggest everyone do the same. The problem I have is all of my old bank clients went to AMC's. You either have 2 choices; find full fee work to replace what was lost or take the 50% reduction in fee. I went 50% to finding new work and trying to get to 100%. I feel that a majority of our independence is lost when appraisers are contracted by AMC's. The give a laundry lists of requirements some of which are impossible to meet. They have been treating appraisers as indentured servants and we have been letting them. This is a chance to educate your congressman. I would love them to have to explain how they deserve 60% of the fee for assigning an order. EA has proved the review process is not what it should be. I think now is the time to get the word out while AMC's are backpeddling due to the NY AG suit. (Stepping off my soapbox)
