And today I received this email notice from another appraiser. I thought the maps today were a little wacky but did not realize they had made a change. Let's all complain and maybe they will fix it...

"ARMLS has changed the mapping software and we have lost the ability to create a map for all selected properties. The software developers changed to Google Maps which zooms out to 9 square miles. As a result we can no longer see streets and street names so that we can navigate efficiently through a neighborhood. Prior mapping software zoomed in as close as possible depending on the selected properties. I have spoken with ARMLS support and they say that there is nothing they can do. They will not return to the previous mapping software. They think it is sufficient to be able to generate specific directions for a single property. This is a huge problem for us and I would have to believe that all active appraisers have the same problem. Could you forward this to other appraisers. Maybe if we all speak up they will do something to correct it."

The list print map must be the map you are talking about, and if it is, it has rarely been a useful map. It has always had a weird formatting. I always use it for general location and then use GPS to get to the property if needed. However, it does appear to be zoomed out a bit. It does have decreased utility. Its a shame the MLS does not care about our needs. I imagine this will be something that concerns agents as well:
