NAR Appraisal section

They've been around for a long time; was a "Founding Member" and held the RAA for about ten years-should probably rejoin, they've always carried good info, as they have the Real Estate Division next door.

Pam,

Thanks for posting. Realtor - Appraisers should be aware the dues for membership in the NAR Appraisal Section are now $0.00. If you are a member of the NAR and hold a license as a licensed or certified appraiser, all you have to do is elect to join the Appraisal Section, and you're in.

There may be be no dues on the national level, but there are state dues (at least in North Carolina). I just got a bill for $35.00.

Bob,

Hey, we control what we can control. NAR sure cannot control what a State or Local Association or Section does in the way of dues.

Florida has an Appraisal Council which is open to all REALTOR - Appraisers (Sunshine State Appraisers) with no dues or fees. It's been that way for about six years.

Although in no way should this be taken as discouraging you from paying your North Carolina Appraisal Section dues, FYI failure to pay will in no way affect your participation in the NAR Section.

Pam and Frank: When I clicked the links you posted, all I got was some advertisements, even though the name NAR APPRAISAL SECTION appeared on the page> Nothing about signing up with the Appraisal Section for weekly e-mail updates.

I, like J. Trotta, was a "founding" member. Have heard nothing from them in years and years.

Well, that thread was started back in 2002. If you want, I'll see if I can find a new link.

I don't get anything from them either, and signed up a long time ago. All I get is what Frank G sends and the regular NAR stuff.

Somehow, some advertisers have highjacked it. It came up on a Google search I did for "NAR Appraisal Section". I was wrong about the name on it. It was NAR Appraisal Source", not NAR Appraisal Section.

And, Pam, thanks for the offer to follow up. Don't think it would be worthwhile. That org has been dead for many years, as far as I know.

Was in you area, Palm Bay, again last week-end for a Free-Flight Airplane Meet at the flield on Sapadilla, off Bombardier.

Regards,

Tom
