The NBC manual is coming out for 2024. I dropped a line last year about how useful for appraisers if a Barndominum section could be added - something perhaps that would account for Accessory dwellings, shops, and finished areas in shops as well as the barndominium. I got a reply last week from NBC saying my suggestion was under consideration and while not able to add to the 2024 edition, expect to see that section in their future books if not 2025 maybe 2026. It would be a welcome addition to us who are seeing more and more new barndo projects. In fact, I have 2 within one mile of me now. One is pretty much finished and the other just got a good start....boy this is buggy trying to add pix.

Not sure about Terrell's area but here, its, for example, a 60 x 80 pole construction building where the owner has converted or purposely built say half of it into living area. Some of them are VERY nice. Some others are simple pole barn construction homes finished into living quarters. Much cheaper to build than conventional construction.

A barndominum is a barn made into a house. Usually square and can be good to cheap construction.

When I'm near a Love's truck stop, I pick up the free Nickle Ads. Lots of price quotes on out buildings, along with cars, puppies, and firewood.
