The National Federal Registry lists appraisers, license #, begin/end date, State, etc.
How does the Registry work? Are Disciplinary actions taken against an appraiser at the State level forward and entered into this Registry or
what type of discipline is recorded?

Is this Registry a tool for MB, lenders, underwriters to determine whether there is any discipline against appraiser. There is a caption for "discipline" but it is ony used by certain agencies. What is actually noted under
discipline?

If the national registry does not enter discipline and its only known at the State level, why would any MB or loan consultant call State for information on an appraiser if all they are concerned with is finding an appraiser to meet their criteria.

The registry is just that, a registry. All disciplilnary action, etc is taken at the state level. I seldom find actual disciplinary actions recorded on the registry as the data is provided by the states. Check the registry for whether there is a license for an individual. For specifics, check the specific state.
