New Apex Sketcher?

I got it a couple of months ago. I really like the old Apex. I am not 100% happy with this version, but it is better than ACI sketcher. There are still some things I am figuring out.

Sadie,
He is talking about something completely new, so it is not what you have. You likely have Apex v7 ("Av7") which has been "evolving" for many years. What he is talking about is "AvX" which is completely new - built to run "cross platform" (hence the "X") via a browser (on or off-line) - Windows, desktop, Windows Tablets, Apple desktops, iPhones, iPads, and Android Phones & Tablets. What Brian is releasing also features a Portal where you can upload/download sketches as desired...

Mejappz,
FWIW, I like it, but then you might suspect that's what I'd say ;-) (I haven't always said that about new versions, LOL.)
AvX is the last Apex product that I have been fortunate to have had a hand in. That said, I have to give Brian & Wayne their due credits for getting this product to market. Those two are virtually 100% responsible for doing most everything to not only design & program this new product, fighting upstream to get it recognized & out to the market and I am very proud of them both for getting it done! FWIW, I no longer have any association with Apex but I wish them, especially Wayne & Brian, all the best! I have worked intimately with them both for many years and am convinced that if you let them know what you like, don't like and still wish for, they will be as attentive (or more) as I tried to be for these past years. Give it a try and see what you think!

Warm regards,

FWIW, I noticed that Brian Marino published a "Getting Started" video using AvX today. It's nice to see that he changed the GUI to more closely resemble the way previous desktop Apex versions worked. For long time Apex users this video may be a little elementary but at least you can see it working on his iPad. Of course, the way it looks and works is mirrored on Android and Windows tablets. From what I've seen, would be the same on phones but he tells me they are still tweaking the interface to fit better on smaller phones. My belief is that they want to get some "secondary importance" things like Symbols, Photometrics , etc. implemented before tweaking the interface for phones, but that is just speculation on my part.
I also noted that he is saying that if you have any suggestions, to either use the on-line suggestion/wish list via "Help" or maybe just do it here. I'll be getting back to him to suggest that he add the function where it shows where his finger in on the screen and a few other minor cosmetic items. Feel free to let him know what you want to see in furure videos as well as functions/features  When I was there, I really appreciated it when real world users would give me constructive feedback and I am pleased to say that it appears Brian is carrying on that perspective, so if you want to see it pay more attention to what YOU want, let him know.

Hope this helps!

I'll jump in here. We do ALL of our appraisal sketches (there are 4 of us) in the field using Apex Mobilesketch. Unfortunately, Apex has discontinued the Windows version of Mobilesketch. We still have 2 appraisers using it, you just have to change the date on your tablet. It was a really good product.

We've been using the Cross Platform version for a while, on a couple of iPads. It is very similar to the Windows version, so I jumped in very early. It helps that we are in San Antonio, where Apex calls home. The current version is really very, very good. If you haven't tried it, you should.

I noticed that Brian Marino published another "Getting Started" video using AvX today. This one is for traditional "Desktop" users - i.e. using a mouse & keyboard, so it is most familiar to long time Apex desktop PC (vs. Tablet/Phone) users. I will encourage him to put the "skip ahead to the meat and potatoes" link right up front in future videos. While all the menu items are probably important to long time traditional Apex users, I believe most users just expect it all to be there right up front. Of course, compared to the desktop versions which have been around since the mid-late 1980's, not everything will be available immediately as the more immediate needs were for a more mobile-device-friendly product (and in particular, on iPad/iPhone, then Android, then PC) so most efforts were put there, especially the "Portal." Anyway, I'm glad to see Brian continuing to put these videos out and I encourage you to try it out and to give him your feedback so he can direct folks to get the functionality/features that YOU want most bumped up to the top of the list(s.)
