I have read many in other states are going to increase their fees to complete the 1004MC. At first I was against this because I felt it was data we were already researching, we just had to put it in a different layout.

However, after I really began looking at the form it is also asking for additional information we have never been asked to check or report on before. It has basically turned what used to be a Summary section of the report to a Self-Containted (narrative) reporting section.

So, my question is, what are appraisers here in Utah doing about their fees. I have heard appraisers in other states are increasing $75 to $100, but I have yet to hear anything from anyone in Utah.

Any thoughts?

I am thinking probably $75 for me. I will be filling out my first one in the next couple of days so I will have a better idea from there. What are you thinking?

^Damn, now you are making me feel like an AMC with my low fee's, lol.

Maybe no fee increase

Well, I've filled out 3 so far, and it's not that bad. However, my brother, who's an appraiser in Arizona, sent me an Excel spreadsheet that will calculate the figures for me. I can export data from the WFRMLS, then copy/paste it into Excel and it works fine. Right now, it takes me about 30 minutes extra.

I told my client I might charge $50-100 more, but I may only go $25-50 since the spreadsheet makes it much easier. And if the MLS does what I suggest it do in an email to the webmaster, we may not have to charge anything extra. I'm on the Park City MLS as well, and their MLS actually created a special report for their appraisers that will calculate everything they need for the form. I told the WFR they needed to do the same thing.

The MINIMUM that the AMCs are offering is $40 so charge at least as much. I have most all up to between $75 and $100 more.
