Our local paper has had two stories about Flood Maps, saying that FEMA will releae new ones for Marion County on February 28th.

Our paper talked about them as if they were "proposed". FEMA doesn't propose Flood Maps. They issue them.

Has anyone heard anything directly from FEMA about new Flood Maps?

Whats a flood map?

FEMA Zone__*_____ Map Date ____*___
FEMA Map No. *See Flood Site Vendor

Been doing it for ten+ years...only had one request for a number, I straightened out the requester, they checked with their corespondent lender, and I didn't have do it.

The first five years I did them, untel a MAJOR secondary lender informed me that they were required by FannieMae to order a flood zone check from a GPS enabled company that guaranteed the data. My E & O appreciates that I don't libel them/me by committing an opinion to possible flooding.

just IMHO, y'all do what you want...you will anyhow.
