Metamoras is in Eastern Washington County, which is almost entirely Wayne National Forest. There are scattered houses between the hills but very rural and very Appalachian. The village is on SR 7. It's quaint but there isn't much there aside from a gas station.

A word of caution for anyone not from the area. If you're driving down SR 260 outside of Metamoras and hear dueling banjos. pray that your car doesn't break down or you may end up squealing like a pig, boy.
