So it seems that the 'standard Xsite will go away as or Oct 31st. If I want to keep an Xsite it will become a part of,
what?, the enterprise level. But it will also cost a great deal more. And the annual fees for everything go up.
Seems like after 8 years of AMC's trying to screw me now AlaMode is jumping on the band wagon.

I saw the email too. Too busy to figure it all out, but it sounds like the Alamode "affordable option" just went away.

I got the email too.... I am sooooo confused with all this xsites and Mercury stuff.

Question....I have an Xsite....I have received a few emails in past years stating somebody went there - but not who. To my knowledge, it has never converted any visitor to an ordering client. Nobody has ever ordered "online" via my site.

I get an occasional stray order (1-2/year) via Mercury Network from different clients - usually one hit wonders. Are these being generated from traffic to my xSite? Could these be related tot he xSite "visitor" they tell me was there? Or does Mercury (now owned by somebody else) have any "directory" or advertising that is generating these orders?

If they are being generated by xSites traffic..it might be worth it to pay for the enterprise site. If they are coming from folks browsing Mercury network then I see no reason to keep the xSite.

So how (if at all) are these two platforms related nowadays? Can anybody clear this up for me?

i never used the xsites when i was an alamode user, however i have browsed many of them and they are all the same thing, just some different stock photos. quite boring and anything but unique. i know several appraisers who have/had an xsite and none of them ever mentioned that it generated an order. aside from the hosting, which you can get from hundreds of sites on the net, i never saw any benefit to them. you can have a basic site hosted from godaddy for like $30 a year including your own domain and email.

I already have a godaddy page. I haven't looked at my xSite in months. I just checked and it is gone. No loss, but will I get a refund from Alamode since I paid full fee for my renewal this year???

Had the enterprise xsite for years and never used most of the features or extra pages. Did use one extra email address, but could function fine without it. Jumped to the 5 page xsite 2 years ago and didn't notice any reduction in leads or traffic.

Little bitter to hear this considering in my situation the extra cost for the enterprise xsite was a waste.

I only had an X site because it was mandatory if you wanted the upload plug-ins. Now If I don't need and X site to upload that's fine
with me I can do a site much cheaper. Also 99% of the time the site brings tire kickers shopping lowest price.

Makes my blood boil. I have to pay more to keep my website. Another entity wanting a piece of my shrinking pie. The email spins it as if we are all prospering so its time to charge more. I love Alamode, but this move might make me take a look at another form provider.
