My purchase appraisal was completed and signed on 04/28/2022. Today I got a request to address an addendum to the contract giving seller credit to buyer of $5,000 towards buyers closing costs. The addendum is dated 05/07/2021. Is this allowed, and if not, how do I handle it?

You can refuse, but I prefer to just add an addendum that states a $5,000 towards buyers closing costs have been added as an addendum to the contract after the effective date, as its much quicker than arguing over it.

I would only add to above by saying the info was provided post-report and was and is not a factor in my analysis.

The appraisal is as of the effective date. Your report is as of whatever date you signed and submitted it. You can revise the report adding comments on a text addendum explaining the circumstances. I would not remove one word of what you alread said in the report... just add additional comments. Make sure to change the report date.
