Techie here. I cut my teeth in a boutique appraisal firm a couple decades ago, doing pretty much everything *except* appraising (they did send me on an inspection once, though...that was a hoot!). Finally settled into the IT manager role, though my first love was always solving business problems programmatically...especially via building Word and Excel templates and using Office automation. I eventually moved on, but a recent reconnection with a colleague from those days has brought me back to the appraisal world, and I'm loving it! Feels like coming home.

I found this site while searching for some info about a Narrative1, and thought I'd join to see what more I could learn. One of my specialties has always been translating techie-speak to appraiser-ese and back, so hopefully I can contribute, as well as see what all has changed in the appraisal world since I left.

Too funny! I'm not sure what that Google search returns for you, since Google's results are so highly personalized these days. But for me it comes back with just about everything *except* my intended usage - stock quotes, cheffy software, you name it! When I google for "ohai meaning," though...bingo!

But whatever you do, don't google "ohai meme," unless you want to lose half your Sunday looking at adorable pictures.

In any event, ohai Mike!

I imagine La Jolla and San Joaquin have similar issues. Those Js are tricksy.

ETA: As are the double Ls. Any time I pronounce llama correctly, people look at me like I have three heads.

2 L's = a Y sound, J sounds like H. What problem? Joaquin = Wah keen. :ROFLMAO:

Try Port Hueneme.
Remember HS level Spanish and just live here a while to figure it out. Or search youtube. :peace:
