Very cool! Thanks for the link.

Interesting, thank you very much for the link! I'll be joining by the end of the month.

I joined!

It can't hurt and a hundred clams is not bad.

Another voice besides OAR at the state is worth millions.

Jan, I agree with you 100%. I'm getting tired of Ohio Realtors telling state officials what Ohio Appraisers should be doing and what changes we need. Like you Jan, I have tried numerous times over the past twenty years to get our state officials to see the real issues appraisers deal with every day.

But, Ohio Realtors usually got their way due to their large membership and lots of money. National appraisal groups usually don't get involved in local or state issues. So, Ohio Realtors have pretty much been the only voice they would hear and/or listen to.

We may have a chance with the "Ohio Coalition Of Professional Appraisers" representing us. An Ohio appraisal group with large enough numbers of real estate appraisers working on the real issues we face like mandatory licensing, domination and unreasonable AMC's, and a general lack of respect for our profession. Its long overdue and what we do "IS" important!

P.S. Glad to see your name as a new member, Jan.

I know the folks behind OCAP and I think its a worthwhile endeavor! They've got great ideas and will be an important asset to your state's profession.

I have been known to put my money where my mouth is! Will probably send them some more money which I previously donated to RPAC.

Without mandatory licensure, Ohio appraisers and consumers both suffer. I have had my Realtor's license since 1979, Broker's since 1983 and sold my last house in 1994 due to perceived conflicts of interest in mixing sales and appraisal.
