So my Dad got a new Ford hybrid. Being an engineer, he started testing stuff. Bought a Kw/h meter and started charging from scratch each time. Took about 11 hours to charge the battery that provides 15-25 miles runtime. 15 in winter. 24ish in summer. His conclusions were that it costs roughly 20cents/mile to run on battery and only 11cents/mile to run on gas. So there's that. In case you think a stronger charger would make a difference...it doesn't...the Kw/h just racks up faster. May not apply in Cali with their gas prices tho...

You may be right. It's that appraisal sense you get that something's not right. I'm not sure if I'm really getting all that cost savings. I will check to see if we're right.
