My cannon sd800is elph recently passed and is being sent to the cannon pergatory for who knows how long and how much $$$?

I was considering the new olympus 6000 or 8000 tough waterproof dropproof super wonderful bla bla bla camera as hopefuly, a long term replacement that can handle some abuse.

Is anybody using one of these Olympus stylus toughies?

If so, is the wide angle sufficient?

i liked my Cannon, but it just didn't last.
I miss my old kodak DC210 - lasted almost 10 years.

thanks for any insight/help:clapping:

NC Hammer,

You may want to look over the thread and recently updated PDF in this thread: http://appraisersforum.com/showthread.php?t=142348&page=11

I know a few appraisal departments who use the previous model and they like them well enough. The MAIN drawback for most, however, is that they use a non-standard data card. The camera we recommend is the Panasonic DMC-TS1 - it costs a bit more, but is just better IMHO. YMMV, of course, and you'll want to check out the PDF attached to the Appraiser Cameras thread posted above as a starting point.

Hope this helps!
