Oh yeah, try Mozzilla’s Thunderbird for an Outlook Substitute.

i used it but not really a fan of some of the lacking options. for example i had 2 accounts in it and both were tied to my phone as well. only the first (main) will leave messages on the server, so if i got an email while out in the field on the second account and accidentally deleted it it would not be on my machine when i got back to the office. there is no option to leave them on the server for anything but the first account.

another thing i didn't like was the lack of editing buttons in messages. say i wanted to italicize some text. instead of being able to highlight and hit the "I" button (that does not exist) i had to click on format, then text style then choose italicize. also there is no option to highlight text in a mssage and i use that feature quite often.

good points. Their manual POP/SMTP and/or IMAP settings are very limited. I run one Outlook, one T-Bird, and one on phone (all same Email Addy). That works for me as I can leave all Apps open without being kicked out by the MS Server (bc I too like to archive and leave emails on the servers).

So MS office has gone like annual subscription with windows 10. So old version of MS office can still be obtained with windows xp or 7? MS works is similar too. What am I missing. Idk how to scrub data.

Outlook 10 is prob your cheapest, best bet for .pst files you want to transfer to a new machine that you have on any current outlook. 2007 is safe, but read-up on how to lock it down (no auto-open hyperlinks kinda stuff. HTML is basically safe as plain text, but maybe go plain text if you buy Outlook/Office 2007 since its no longer supported. Thunderbird is great, but like someone noted in a previous post, the manual pop/smtp (IMAP too) settings for server configs are limited. But for just one machine, you’ll be fine if you set another machine with outlook to “leave messages on Server”. So scrubbing data. Read up about what .xml and .pdf files contain w/ respect to metadata. Then do a search for programs that clean various file types. Anything from .jpgs, .xml, .pdfs, and photo EXIF data (to name a handful of file types that can be cleaned). Corelogic doesn’t need to know you’re using a Canon Powershot XyZ camera on such and such date, or what Browser you are using when researching and writing a report. UAD was Big Brother’s first implementation. Look what that did for appraisers. Maybe read a website like eff.org (where there are countless reads as to how deep companies go to harvest tack-on data). My friend sells software to financial businesses based solely on user web browsing history (to target potential customers -their software collects 3rd party scripts, dom storage, disk cache, et.). It’s wrong, but this person makes a great buck bc many peeps don’t even know how to clear their temp file cache!

I suggest you try Libre Office. I have used it for years. I also tried Open Office, but Libre Office worked better.

I used Open office for years and it worked fine for my needs. Recently switched to Libre and noticed it's less glitchy. More support too since it's included in most Linux distros.
