PAR to assemble task force.

"Members needed to serve on AMC Task Force
Member Services Coordinating Committee is looking for members interested in serving on the Appraisal Management Company Task Force. This group will analyze the Michigan Associations success in owning an Appraisal Management Company and determine if PAR should own an Appraisal Management Company. Those interested in serving should contact Brenda Florida." (bflorida@parealtor.org).

It would be nice if this would result in a PA AMC that promoted a fair cost to the consumer and a C/R fee to appraisers. However, I have seen enough of a lack of ethics in my area that this could just result in a fee panel of Realtor "favorites" that hit numbers. Thoughts?

I think that owning an AMC falls within the parameters of what PAR is all about. I will contact Brenda and Jim Helsel for more information. Thanks for the information.
 
Appraisal management is a misnomer.

There are lots of ways to manage appraisal distribution without:

incorporating a fixed biased.

That's my take on AMC's - I'm sticking too it.
