Received the following in an email. I have never had a Pay Pall account.

"We recently have determined that different computers have logged into your PayPal account, and multiple password failures were present before the login. One of our Customer Service employees has already tryed to telephonically reach you. As our employee did not manage to reach you, this email has been sent to your notice.
Therefore your account has been temporary suspended. We need you to confirm your identity in order to regain full privileges of your account.
If this is not completed by June 06, 2005, we reserve the right to terminate all privileges of your account indefinitly, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes. We thank you for your cooperation in this manner.
To confirm your identity please follow the link below:"

Sounds like the latest virus warning I received.

Check Trend Micro website. Get on their alerts.

NO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT.

If you have no idea what it is, delete it.

It is not a virus.

It is a "phishing" email. Similiar to the emails you get pretending to be banks, or other institutions. They want you to click the link and enter personal information to "verify" your account. Of course they use this personal information to steal your identify and clean out your bank accounts or make charges on your credit card.

PayPal, or your bank, or any legitimate source will never send you an email asking you to "verify" your account. Just delete it. Millions are sent by "phishers" every day.

PayPal is a top notch secure service with over 71 million members worldwide and I have been using it for several years now to process credit card payments for my customers. Many appraisers also use Paypal to accept credit card payments for appraisals.

The email you got was not sent by PayPal although the "phishers" go to great lengths to make them look legitimate.

Always go to the webiste on your own to seek information, so you don't get phished, Wayne is right, they want your. identity

We have been getting these "verification - account about to expire" notices also.

Odd thing is that they seem to show up at about the same time I get the verification email from paypal on an actual purchase.
