This website has everything you need to modify, sign, redact, and compress PDF files. All the tools that Adobe offers. I have been paperless for a while now and this helps a lot.

To view/fill and print to PDF I use Google Chrome, but I'm pretty sure all web browsers do this now.

To get a good copy of your signature, just take a picture of it with your phone. If you need to remove the background from the picture, there are many online tools available such as remove.bg

There are other pdf makers that are pretty good. But I do stay away from Nuance programs (Kofax now?). I have used Foxit and like it.

Libre Office Draw is the easiest and least glitchy for dealing with most documents. Available on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Most image editing software works as well. GIMP, Inkscape, Blender and many others are free
