Can someone with more knowledge than me fill me in on this license classification. From the little research I have done I know that they are not able to complete appraisals for federally regulated transactions. Are they able to sign the report with a supervisory appraiser for federally regulated transactions? Does PA have inspection requirements for someone supervising a broker/appraiser?

It likely means the person has both a certified appraiser license and a brokers license. More detail is needed to go past that assumption.

Check with the state board. I believe that is a very old license and no longer exists. Pennsylvania licenses are Certified Residential and Certified General.

Yes, as a trainee.

Yes, they must follow the same rules as a trainee to become certified.

This is a grandfathered license from back in 1993+/- and no longer available. Having this gives no benefit when pursuing a residential/general certification these days.

They are essentially back to square one.

That license was given to brokers prior to appraisers having to be certified. I was one of them, and let it lapse. You could do commercial work in a limited capacity. Not too many of those old guys left. Like me. :new_all_coholic:

Thanks for the information everyone. I did receive a response PA Bereau and their response seemed to indicate even with a supervisory appraiser signing the report it still would not be permitted if it were a federally regulated transaction, but you know how those responses go. They don't like to give a real answer they just like to quote statutes saying they are only authorized for non-federally related transactions.
