I have appraised personal property as a part of business previously on several occasions, however this request is to appraise only personal property.

These people answered an ad to purchase a business and it turns out all that is for sale is restaurant equipment. I have always appraised this sort of property in tandem with real property or with business intangibles.

If anyone has a template they would be willing to let me plagerize it would be helpful. Also, I am aware of liens and sales tax considerations and will check for those. Does anyone have any additional pitfalls to warn the unwary?

Thanks in advance.

Brand new restaurant equipment depreciates quickly - usually by 75% in the first four years or so. That's why there's such an active market in used equipment. With fallout ratioes over 50% the first year...used equipment is a better deal.

I used to do a lot, including major manufcturing plants

What I would do is do it in a table format in Word.
