I should know this, but I'm drawing a complete blank. Are church buildings referred to as places of worship or religious facility or is there an even more generic term we should be using? Thanks much

Why even mention it? Is the property adjacent to one?

I call a spade a spade. If it's a church, it's a church. A mosque is a mosque and a tabernacle is a tabernacle. Be factual and forget the PCspeak.

Large structure with pews and an altar? Call it a meeting place of people of common belief.

"If y'all don't cut out this PC crap I'm going to go out of my mind"

Too late:) , never mind.

I was taught place of worship. Take a picture and worship it when you put in it the appraisal

I was taught and use, when applicable, "a place of worship". I Didn't realize I sent the first response. Just got my 100th post:clapping:

IMHO

If you are making a reference to a specific site; i.e. "The subject's site is adjacent to..." then it probably makes sense to call it by its proper name: St. Mary Catholic Church.

If you are making a general comment; "Typical neighborhood amenities such as..." then it makes sense to go with places of worship.

Be as generic as possible. Especially when referencing Neal Boortz's church of the painful truth.

I call it the place where I go to ask for more work.

Use the term place of worship.

In a 1996 Fair Lending Requirements Seminar (Effect on Real Estate Appraisal and Report Writing) by the NAIFA, and the NAR Fair Housing Handbook) To comply to the Federal Fair Housing Law avoid using words or phrases describing the dwelling, its tenants, or neighborhood. Examples: Hispanic neighborhood, Jewish Synogog, or other wods indicative of race, color religion, sex, hanidicap, etc.

Avoid words or phrases like: bullet ridden area, church, known crack area, low or high income neighborhood, drug infested area, pride of ownership , etc.
