I recently purchased pocket total and was wanting to know the best PDA or Smartphone to purchase. I currently use AT&T Wireless and would prefer to have an "all in one device" (phone/PDA/camera). If this is not possible can I get some suggestions. Thanks for the help!

I used the HP Hx4700 for years with pocket total and was very pleased. They don't make them anymore, but they are still available.

I have the Fuze, and both Pocket total and and MobileSketch run fine.

I use an hp211, pda only, keep in mind that most pda's or smartphones do not have a flash strong enough for good interior photos, especially if the utilities are off. I was looking for the same thing but was convinced to use a digital camera and pda

The only appraiser's I've known who tried the pda route were not fans, and said they had difficulty making the whole operation work effectively. I'm interested to hear how using them has worked for you folks.

I ended up going the tablet pc route. Works well for me and saves me some time.

I currently use an HPrx3700. It's PDA with a camera, but the camera is not all that great. I only use it for backup.

I've been using this device for almost 5 years with no problem other than the discontinued support from WinTotal regarding Apex (mobilesketch).

I tried a few smart phones, but they were not as smooth and are much smaller. I often hear about complaints that the PDA is too small, but I must disagree. However, the smart phone was too small for me.

You can find a decent PDA on ebay for cheap.

:(Hi fellow trainee.....I almost hooked up with an Appraiser until he took another job........He loved his HP Ipaq and I wanted to be just like him, so I got one from ebay under $150 I might sell it if I don't get a supervisor soon! ( advise: don't purchase Win total until you are sure you have a job!)m2:

Thanks for the help. That sucks about your sponsor. I became Certified in 08' just haven't changed my status. Wintotal is 100X better than what I used with my sponsor. Everyone has been telling me that Pocket total is gearing towards the tablet pc. How do you carry all that stuff around while measuring houses?
