I have a manufactured home with a 2880 SF pole building.. since a 1004C is required I need to find cost data for this pole building.. it has a ceiling height of 20 feet,, is 40 x 72 (2880 SF) supported by 18 6x6 poles on poured foundation pads. Trusses span the entire 40 feet and the roof is metal.

Any suggestions for finding cost data,, I looked through Marshall and Swift but could find nothing to match... I am really beginning to dislike these 1004C's.

Look under sheds and farm buildings.

I forgot to mention this is not an enclosed structure,, and it has a gravel floor

Check out SwiftEstimator on-line. Their commercial estimator does ag buildings. There are pretty good descriptions of the different types of structures. I believe you look in the help section. Play around with it for a bit and you'll figure it out. I have done a few ag buildings with it and am pretty happy. I miss Boeckh's ag guide.

How about page B-25 from M&S - Carports/Breezeways. Apply costs to floor area of pole barn. Deduct for a lack of slab.

That might work, but remember this is considerably larger, height and size of members, than a typical residential carport. The assessed value on this structure is $46,400. The numbers on b25 are way too small for this type of structure,, and those on c2 are for enclosed structures.. does this make any sense... take the low quality SF number Pg c2, for Pole/Metal barn, since it is a good quality structure without siding, and apply the appropriate multiplier... so at 2880 SF x 7.70 = 22,176 x .983 = 21,799 cost. Yikes, that seems rather low compared to the assessed value for this less than one year old improvement. Maybe I should take the average cost, at 10.7 x 2880 x .983 = 30,292 that is better. any idea what metal siding contributes to the cost of a pole/metal barn?

Per B-25, Excellent quality, metal, formed seals roof is $16.91 per sf.

$16.91 x 2880 = $48,700 (less about $3,000 for no slab) $45k +-

Please don't take my word on anything. I'm not the sharpest knife in this forum.

Not to interject, but M&S SwiftEstimator on-line really does have the type of building you are working on in the commercial section. It might be more accurate than making up something.
