VA has a list of counties they need appraisers to cover in many different states on the LGY website. None in my state, Tennessee. Here appraisers outnumber the general public 2 to 1.

it's an excel file, I'm in the car

Absolutely the quickest way to get on the panel.
It's how I got on. Fayette County and Shelby County. When I moved, had to wait another 5 years to get "geographically competent" here and apply all over again.

yeah, if an appraiser had any interest in doing work for VA, then that would be golden opportunity if you work one of those areas they are advertising for. If you get on the panel in TN, you pretty much die or retire. You don't want to leave it. Great client to work for. Most of the borrowers are great too that you deal with. You don't have to worry about the bad lenders.

Again as I have posted before, many on this Appraisers forum were on VA panel before and didn't like it or got kicked off. Be prepared. VA operates pretty much like the military. It is VA's way or the highway.

OTOH, VA does need to bump fees a little. LOL Fees are probably really good wherever they are advertising for.
