I HAVE USED QUICKEN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND NOW HAVE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT CATEGORIES LISTED. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO COMBINE THESE CATEGORIES WITHOUT LOSING ALL OF THE PREVIOUS INFORMATION?

On Quick books there is a merge function. Look it up in the help....I do not know if quicken does it or not as I have not used quicken since DOS.

If you are using a registered version..call tech support.

I use Quickbooks Pro and it will do almost anything you want.

You could also go back and change the category on each old check unless there are too many for this to be practical.
