Hi there, this will be my first proper post on AppraisersForum, though I've been lurking since I started. I believe a formal "Thank you" is in order for all of those who have answered some 100+ questions I've had along my journey. So Thanks!...but I digress

I just got my first assignment with Raine Company. Anyone have any experience working with them? The whole things feels kind of "black box-y" more so than the typical AMC experience. No formal LOE, very little correspondence, I had a hell of a time tracking down someone to answer my initial questions. Just wondering what folks' experience has been and how you handled it. Thanks again!

Those are bad signs. If you can't get hold of someone for an order, what are you going to do when they stiff you on payment?

True, and this is a concern of mine for sure - however it appears as though they are charged with handling much of the FHA/REO work in my area. I can't imagine they get away with stiffing too many appraisers working in that space. Signing up with them was suggested by a fairly well known agent in my area as they were "looking for new appraisers." They seem reputable on the face. I can't say that it feels that dissimilar from being "new" to some of the AMC's I work with. I should also say that my direct contact is on vacation this week and it could just be bad timing (I got an auto reply to my initial email)

You said no formal LOE, is there any LOE?

Seems to me that they are not really an AMC. But one of the various companies that manage HUD reos. But is strange that they are hard to get in contact with. They seem to manage the complete process. Including securing, clean out, etc.
