Anyone use this service? I am looking to be able to access my computer from any other pc for using wintotal ect.

Any other websites out there that are similar or better would be helpfull.

gotomypc.com
ntrconnect.com

We use gotomypc and absolutely love it. We travel with the kids for sports and get to hotels and just access our home pc from where ever. You can cancel at anytime, I wish they had a per month contract, but it's only the yearly contract. Other than that everything is great with the program, I would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks to another poster on here, sorry I forgot who, suggested logmein dot com. $0 and works like a champ.

I guess I've been living in a cave... I had never heard of such a thing.

THANKS GUYS!!!!

The computer guy came over yesterday & set me up, last night I was typing away in my jammies! Amazing!!!

I use LogMeIn. The free version works great. Can't transfer files with the free version, but I can send an email to myself with the file. :)

I use logmein.com and it's free. It works great for remote access and desktop control of a remote PC.

I do want to offer one other suggestion on handling file transfers between two computers. You can do one of three things:

1. You can upgrade the logmein free version to logmein pro version for $70 a year. This enables you to drag and drop files from one desktop to the other remotely. That's nice. It also enables you to print locally from the remote computer. That's nice.

2. You can email files back and forth. That's a little cumbersome and sometimes email transfers of large files get stuck at your ISP, or they take more time than you have patience.

3. You can use another free service I found called box.net. Box.net is a free file hosting service. You can use this instead of emailing files back and forth to yourself. I upload files to box.net, use logmein to connect to the remote computer and then retrieve whatever files I need from box.net on the remote control. Box.net doesn't care how big the file sizes are like an email restriction from an ISP.

Just some other options to consider.

What he said.....it is great.
