Tried to renew my license tonight. So basically I wasted my time sending in the CE early. The state combined licensing with other agencies so despite the somewhat identical format, the Registered Geologist and the Certified Appraiser goes differently.

Both are convoluted PITA, and the "buttons" are not consistent between the inputs of the AALCB and ARPG boards. The template is. And then, depsite paying, the geo group wouldn't allow me to download my certificate- I will have to come back and get that or request the admin there to mail me one...luckily Kelli used to work for the AALCB so she is pretty versant in the ins and outs of the state computer system.

So despite having already submitted all my CE via email, that's not acceptable. You have to put in the pdfs or whatever into the computer to get to the review stage. But no, my pdf submissions were too long a title, so I had to rename the files and Once all that is done, then they have to approve your application and I guess, bill you or something. I paid the geologists bunch on line. And last year the process was ez pz and done in 5 minutes- payment and all. This year they don't trust us to send in the CE we already did. Go figure. Supposedly I will get an email telling me how to go to a pay site or get billed. And then go back thru the nightmare website to download my pocket card.

At least this new state wide system did recognize my log-in although it still made me input my user name. I didn't have to create a new password.

I'm currently credentialed in three states. Two of them have user friendly online renewals. The third typically requires multiple emails to administrators.

yea, used to love those threads where they did their license at the last minute, and opps. they can't get it in time. we do ours online, get mailed to us. they state used to wait to the last minute to mail them, but now they seem to give it to you sooner. but they also stated, first come, first get.
