Repetitive motion injuries, which have long afflicted desktop and laptop computer users, are invading the mobile handheld world.

There's even an informal name for the malady - "BlackBerry Thumb" - a catch-all phrase that describes a repetitive stress injury of the thumb as a result of overusing small gadget keypads.

RSS, carpal Tunnel, arthritis...whatever, my right wrist causes tons of pain at times. Since I suffered arthritic knees since childhood, I lump it all there, but my little fingers and R thumb are terribly painful at times and I get a numbness in the wrist too...I've tried Emu oil to who knows what...not much help..Ibupropen, celebrex...some relief.

Anyone with suggestions besides the obvious - type less

I had problems with my elbow several years ago - it was terribly painful.

Take 1,000 mgs of COQ-10. It's called a COQ-10 cleanse. I've never had another problem since I did that.

If you don't want to take that much, take 500 mgs one day and 500 mgs the next. It will help. My problem cleared up within a few days and it has never bothered me since.

Check out Pete Egoscue's "Pain Free at the PC" - his website is Egoscue.com. His books are available on Amazon.com

I was in a bad accident, could barely walk for 1.5 years, and he got me walking a few miles in 2 sessions. Brilliant guy. The knee arthritis he could help too - usually it's muscle imbalances creating an improper load on the joints putting too much pressure on places that shouldn't have that much pressure. Getting rid of the imbalances gets rid of the excess pressure, allowing it to heal.

Look in the mirror. When you stand there, do you see the back of your hands? You should only see your thumbs. If you see the back of your hands, your shoulders are rounded forward, which pulls your back out of alignment and puts too much stress on the arms are wrists and you get carpal tunnel. Look at your feet. Do they face forward or turn out or in? It's supposed to be forward. Out or in will give you hip/knee and foot problems and bother your back. Get his books. He's awesome.

I developed an earache, headache and buttache from listening to my second ex wife repeatedly... if you figure out how to get rid of that one, let me know... until then I will continue to deal with my DMS*... :(

I have a friend who is a rock climber junkie. He started having problems with his elbow a couple years back and went to a physical therapist. The PT figured out which muscle it was that was pulling everything else out of line and gave my friend an exercise to work the muscles on the other side of the joint. It was something simple like lifting a 2lb weight in a certain direction for a few reps. The pain went away after a couple days and he never had a problem with it again. Apparently, balance counts.

A few years back I was hear on public radio at "Peoples Pharmacy" where people were using "Tumeric" to help with joint pain. I was to the point of having surgery on my knees. I tried the "Tumeric", a table spoon in a glass of OJ every day. In about four months the pain went away. So I stop taking it. The pain came back. I then tried it in a glass of V-8 could not taste it. Pain left. I use it for six months then quit to see what would happen. Pain came back. I have now been on a glass of V-8 and a table spoon of "Tumeric" a day for over two years. I have no joint pain at all. Never did have the knee surgery for replacement.

It works for me, I know of a few others that have tried it and they say it works for them.

You can also buy it in pill form.

Well, I didn't even know this forum existed, or at least I didn't remember it.

My wife has worked for a wholesale health food distributor for 30 years. She has kept me alive, and that's saying a lot! I love Jack Daniels and RC Cola, and try to have one or two every night or so. I could stand to loose 30 or so pounds, even though I am fairly active. I have a small ranch, with 30-40 head of longhorn cattle, 10 quarter horses, and about a million miles of fence around our little hundred acre spread.
That being said, my cholestrol is 129....and change. I have bacon and eggs most every morning. But my wife has me taking several supplements, some for cholestrol, some for arthritis, and some for for blood pressure. I don't take any medications, and I just turned 55 this past weekend. The doctor said that I would probably live a few more years, as long as I didn't divorce the current wife. :P

I can't remember all that she has me on, but I could go read the lables. The MSM cured my migrain headaches a couple of years ago. It also helps with my tired old worn out knees! The COQ10 and Omega III oils keep my cholestrol in check. There are a couple of others. One for my border line blood pressure, and some digestive enzymes that keep my old whiskey soaked stomach from hurting. :P

Seriously, she has a wealth of knowledge, and some real good sources of information on her computer and in her head. If anyone has a question about some sort of supplement that has been reccommended, I am happy to ask her. Or if you have some special malady that you would like to treat, with out taking a bunch of drugs, let me know. I'll get you some info.

Interesting fact, a few years ago, I had an old retired race horse that developed arthritis in his knees. I was taking yucca capsules for my arthritis in my knees, so I started giving him some. Just took 1 week and he was doing amazingly better. So we made it a part of his diet.

Have a good Thanksgiving Day!

I added Co Q-10 to my supplements about two months ago -- it's an emzyme that assists with APT production, the cell's gasoline. Been taking one 50 mg pill per day 'til I read the directions recently. Says take one to three pills per day, so now I take three. But these jobs are costly even at Sam's. I bet 1,000 mg per day has to be expensive?
