How do Arizona appraiser's report the parcel ID#. Monsoon Tax Records show an eight digit parcel# --- -- --- and the county assessor reports a 9 digit number (8 numbers with a "0" at the end)?. I have been reporting 8 digits without the "0" at the end. Am I reporting correctly or should I report the additional "0" after the parcel ID number reported within the Monsoon Tax Records?

Where are you seeing monsoon records with a 0 at the end? Not in my monsoon - there is a 9th digit only if the parcel has been subdivided or otherwise modified to include an alphabetic character. But I have not seen any with a zero at the end.

I often receive 'stips' about wanting a 9th numerical digit because they are confusing the County Treasurer account number with the assessor parcel number. These are decidedly different fields with a different source and a different meaning. (which I sarcastically explain as I refuse to change my report)

Hi Cindy, Please re-read my post. The Monsoon Records show an 8 digit number while the county assessor reports a 9 digit number with an additional "0" at the end. Just received a rush request to change it. Please keep in mind on general map page 4, I cut and paste a portion of the Monsoon Tax Records showing the parcel ID. If I were to do this, my reporting of the parcel ID would not be consistent, right? I guess the title company made a mistake and wants me to cover their mistake. Am I reading this right???????????????

Well the monsoon data is absolute crap and I refuse to rely on it for anything. it is filled with errors and made up stuff that is not supported by actual records.
But, I think maybe you are mixing the county assessor records and the county treasurer records? The treasurer adds a numeric 9th digit to the tax accounts when ownership changes. but that is not the assessor parcel number; it is the county treasurer parcel number.

Edit to add: Hmm - I'm talking Maricopa County here - are you talking Pinal County???

Just the 8 digit number zzz-XX-zzz

The stips for this can be obnoxious. According to someone I know at the county, the last number is used the County Treasurer as a property class code.

Are you still seeing errors? With the exception of financing type, I haven't seen one in a while. I still occasionally miss the old tax system. Sigh....
