We will see what Bill Ackman is made of. (If he ends up having something to do with FHFA that is.)

Trump just announced on X:

"I am pleased to announce that Bill Pulte will serve as the next Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Bill needs no formal introduction to the Great Citizens of our Country, because they have seen, and many have experienced, his philanthropy firsthand. He believes in the incredible potential of our Nation, and will help us restore the American Dream FOR ALL. Congratulations Bill!"

Wasn't Pulte the head of UWM?

No - My mistake - He is grandson of Pulte Homes founder in Michigan. I don't know much about him.

Oh that’s fresh, haha

So curious what the AMC hating crowd have to say about this choice

Here I was thinking Mark Calabria would have been a more prudent choice..

He would have been my choice, but in all fairness the incoming president is looking forward and doesn't appear to have much motivation to reappoint prior picks.

We're screwed?

Bill Pulte is an excellent choice for our next FHFA director," said Mat Ishbia, CEO of Pontiac-based United Wholesale Mortgage, which is the nation’s No. 1 mortgage lender by volume. "

United Wholesale Mortgage and Quicken Loans, the two largest nonbank servicers in the
sample, increased abruptly in 2020 and peaked at around 90% and 70%, respectively. The
appraisal waiver share at Wells Fargo, the largest bank servicer, generally increased more
gradually and evenly between the two Enterprises.
