After 5 years of being diagnosed and treated for Parkinson's, my brother apparently has this disease. And its a bad one. He is 64 and isn't likely to make 70 and almost certainly not with any decent quality of life. Not been a good week for us.

In addition to the nervous system responsible for movement there is a nervous system responsible for automatic body functions (autonomic nervous system). The autonomic nervous system looks after the regulation of the blood pressure, control of the urinary bladder and sexual function. Shy Drager syndrome is a problem with a failure of the autonomic nervous system together with parkinsonism.
This disorder is twice as common in males than females and life expectancy is 7 to 10 years. It usually begins after age 50.

Terrel - I'm so sorry for you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh man... sorry to hear that. Now is the time to take some "brother time" vacations.

:icon_frown:
Terry,
Your brother is a very nice man and I'm sorry to hear that things have gone from bad to worse with his health.

Mi Casa Su Casa if you make it back out to CO together again.
I wish there was more that I could say or do to make things better.

Hugs to both of you.

I'm sorry to hear that Terrel.

Terry, I am so sorry to hear about your brother's diagnosis and prognosis. This has just not been a good year for you all. :( :Emoticon_hug:

I haven't had time to broach the subject but if he feels like it & I think he will, we will be heading west before long. He and I have had 2 really good vacations together the last few years and we need at least one more.
