I also have used K-9 with success for about 2 years. About 99.5% effective in stopping spam.

Also, check with your ISP. Many have spam blocking tools, some are very good. Earthlink has a system that will block all your spam and only allow email from persons you want to receive it from.

I have been using Ella for about 2 years, which sorts email into different folders. A trial version can be downoaded from cnet.com or zdnet.com. Full version is about $30.00. I use in in conjuction with MS Outlooks upgraded Spam Blocker.

I use Norton Internet Security 2005. Has everything -- a spam filter, pop-up blocker, firewall, anti-virus, auto-updates and it even blocks most advertising banners while browsing the net.
