Wow. A post circulating on LinkedIn states the Appraisal Institute's 4th Quarter Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Nov. 15-16 will not be open to members and there will be no virtual links.

The Board of Directors is out of control. There is no place for this level of secrecy in a non-profit industry trade organization. Shameful.

I agreed with the first 1/2-2/3 of this. Lots of good points. She must not do residential because she kind of has no clue as to why we write the 'ginormous' reports we do. She seemed to go off the rails and appeared to want appraiser to be saying how high on the way up for banks. But I could have misunderstood.

"The board meetings have not been made public all year at advice of counsel." That's the response I got when I emailed the Prez. The vibe among AI's regular members is pretty low right now. I suspect it will remain so until the reasons for Dr. Chance's dismissal are made public.
