This is all distraction. We can argue about how to regulate AI all day long, but it's all bread and circuses.

10:59 "We don't know how to build safe AI..." but we did it anyway and kept going.

We are beyond the point where we CAN regulate it. Sure we can put guardrails on ChatGPT for the masses and regulations on Anthropic/OpenAI/Google/Grok but they aren't the only sources. With open models spread around the planet there is no enforcement point. Trump tried to ban Kimi K3 and what happened? Nothing. They couldn't enforce the ban. Even IF we could get every other country on board (which we can't) and came up with some global regulation for all AI, there would still be loopholes for governments, military. Not to mention bad actors working on the fringes

AI is more like a virus. It's out in the world and is going to run it's course whether we like it or not.
