I am beyond mad! I ordered the Kindle Fire based on information that Alamode put on facebook (9/29/2011). Got the Kindle today and after spending about 3 hours trying to find the app then get it downloaded, and 40 minutes on hold with Alamode I find out that the app won't work on the Kindle!!! My reason for buying this was to improve my production and be more efficient. Instead it has just cost me time and money!!

Hi Cindy -

I apologize for the troubles you're experiencing loading TOTAL onto your new Kindle Fire. There shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't install, but I assure you that we will get to the bottom of this problem as soon as we get ours in. We pre-ordered ours the day it was announced, but haven't received it yet. Everything Amazon told us about the Kindle Fire said that Android apps would run without issues on it as long as they were approved for the Amazon Market, and we made sure that we cleared everything through the Amazon Market weeks ago. We'll get it sorted out.

Thanks,

I just got off the phone with alamode and they walked me throug a work around. So it is now installed on my fire! I am so relieved!!!! Can't wait to try it out.

Cindy,

I apologize for the misinformation from one of our techs, the truth of the matter is that it does work. We were able to get our hands on a Kindle Fire and test it today as you know. The problem is that TOTAL isn't showing up on the Amazon App Store when browsing from the Kindle, however it does when browsing from other Android devices. Just so everyone else knows, there is a way to manually add TOTAL to the Kindle Fire. The downside to doing that is that the application will not automatically be updated via the normal process. You would have to manually install a new version every time we update the application. So we'd prefer that people hold off until it's in the App Store. However, if you've already got one and want to try it out, please email labs@alamode.com and we can send you instructions for installing it. We've contacted Amazon to find out why TOTAL isn't appearing in the Amazon App Store, but all signs indicate that it should. I've read that other developers are having this same problem, and that Amazon may be approving each app for the Kindle in addition to approving it for the Amazon App Store.

Thanks,

Cindy, Let us know how the Kindle works out for you.

I was just looking at the kindle last night and was wondering if it is compatible with Total 2011. So what exactly can you do on the Kindle with our appraisal software? Can you bring the tablet in the field and do your Davinci sketch? Can you actually complete an appraisal on it?
