Got a call from them today on a rural property where I live. Never dealt with them, nor do I deal with AMC's for the most part. Can anyone advise on how they are to work with? They offered the full fee after *some* negotiation. Any insight would be hugely helpful.

Also, first post :new_newbie:

I used to do some work for them in the past, they always paid and then began reducing fees considerably. I dropped them a few years back when they required you to sign your life away. Are they still requiring an indemnification agreement? If so, be prepared to possibly be forced to buy the house back if it is ever foreclosed on. :icon_idea:

No idea on the agreement. I told them to send the property information over and I'd look at it before accepting. My experience with AMCs, albeit limited, has been less than desirable. Although I'm sure everyone has that story to tell.

They pay in about 30 days...The usual stupid stips but not too bad.Pays almost full fee..

Do they typically set their own fees? After negotiation with them they told me that they have a fee schedule that they adhere to if I want to get on their approved list. Only other client I have that does that is SunTrust, but I'd certainly never ***** about their fees.

They will try to set the fees, but they're not written in stone. The fewer appraisers in your area, the better your chances of a higher fee. If they used the term "approved list" that probably means they want you to sign their "agreement", if so look for the indemnification clause. Did they email or fax you a lengthy vendor agreement?

in addition, they utilize appraisalport = another indemnificatin clause and $10 per order.

They pay! You may have to wait about 3 weeks, but they pay. They like to go through appraisalport, which is a $10 per month fee. Good luck.:new_llying:
