Hi all,
Just thought I'd give you a quick update on Harriet......
Friday she underwent 9 hours of surgery 8O to repair her shattered heel. Apparently there were 3 large pieces and about 50 small pieces of heel bone. The orthopod said it was the worst darn jigsaw puzzle he'd ever seen. But after 9 hours they had her heel back together with no pieces left over!!
In addition to the broken back and shattered heel, they discovered a hairline fracture of the "good" leg, so she's totally bedridden. No standing, etc. Braces on both legs.
Mike reports her spirits are good.
If you haven't signed her "Get Well Thread", now's your chance. I'll print it this afternoon and get it to Mike who's going back down to Seattle on the red eye tomorrow. She doesn't have access to a computer in the hospital....
