Thought is should update my original post on update (no new posts allowed on the old thread for some reason). Had a reverse shoulder replacement in December. Only missed two weeks of work, pain was very minimal especially compared to knee replacement. Its been 5 months now and i have no pain, can swim, play golf, bowl etc. The new technology is amazing. I wish I had it done years ago,

Interesting. I'm facing that also as the original shoulder replacement was not fully successful.

Great to hear. Three guys on my golf league have had it in the past 2 years and all three were playing golf within about 90-120 days. They're very happy they did it. They did it in Oct-Nov so they'd be ready to play in the spring.

What precipitates the need for a shoulder replacement?

Lift it and it hurts like hell

Arthritis or torn rotator cuff or something else....

The former
I am full of arthritis but fell several months ago and have a rotator cuff tear. I dread getting it fixed but I need to - cannot figure out how to mow the lawn with one hand or to get in my tractor during recovery. I was diagnosed with arthritis at age 18... the doctors long questioned if I had gotten rheumatic fever as a child but was not aware of it if I did. Having "trick knees" (subluxating patella) to go with the arthritis means I am bone to bone contact in one knee and nigh so in the other. And that will pop out of place under pressure. A real PITA.

Maybe you should try pot....
You might be able to then mow pain-free....
Not in a straight line, but straight lines are overrated....

Mine was an injury over 20 years ago. It was repaired (the replacement was not available at that time) and over the years the ball and socket wore out Really the same as a bad knee. They usually do the reverse replacement when the socket is so badly worn out that they don't think a normal replacement would work (the screws would not say put).
