Usda - Home Inspection Requirement

WOW, a building inspection requirement. Gee whiz what a great idea. Looks like common sense reigns supreme at the USDA! I wonder what the appraiser's role will be going forward with USDA.

Im not sure, i cant imagine its going to change much but who knows honestly

Since its in the FHA 'family' with much of the same reporting requirements, do you think FHA reports will follow suit?

From what I understand, USDA follows HUD or at least followed HUD guidelines, but are not a part of HUD. They are a part of the department of Agriculture. That is why I am wondering about the appraiser's role in USDA going forward. Possibly, they may opt for another set of guidelines.

Yes you are definitely correct. Maybe they can set a little better standard. Im seeing lots of home inspections per contract requirements anyway. Maybe that will be the norm moving forward.

Interesting. RD sales account for probably half my lending appraisals. One of my credit union clients does occasionally include a home inspection report with the order....wonder if it will be common practice?

Well! That is an interesting read. So, the home inspector is to provide an inspection report. I would like to know what the responsibilities of the appraiser are. Anyone heard?

This new requirement is ONLY for direct loan program, not their guaranteed loan program. Will not affect most RD appraisals in any way.

Source? ^ not discrediting you in any way, just curious. Also can you elaborate the difference btw the two for discussion sake. Thanks
