Friends,
I submitted my application to become a VA certified panel appraiser here in Virginia Beach are , where there is a large veteran community, a month ago.
They have not gotten back to me when i left messages.

May I ask what phone number you use to contact them?

It depends on whether they need appraisers in your area. It was about 7 months for me, some appraisers say they have waited years to get on the panel, they are a good Client if you can get on the panel.

It took me 3 tries before I got on the panel. There has to be a need for appraisers before they will add anymore.

Thanks Buddy.

Hey Dom,
Some other contact info for your Regional Loan Center (RLC) can be found here - https://www.benefits.VA.gov/homeloans/contact_rlc_info.asp
You may want to reach out to the Construction & Valuation Email contact on the site. These are the actual appraisers that work at the RLC and they are the ones that do the recruiting. You have an advantage that other areas do not have, you are located in a large military community. It used to be a generational thing since most VA appraisers stay on the panel until they retire. I am located in a large military community as well. They added to our panel in 2003, 2013, and 2017. I wasn't accepted in 2003 but still sent my application in multiple times over the next few years and received a call out of the blue in 2013. By 2015 I was able to give up the AMC work and since 2016 have been 100% VA. Absolutely the best client out there! The work is steady, even during the down times, turn times and fees are good, and rarely have issues with non-paying lenders. Persistence is the key
Good luck

Took me about four years after i submitted my paperwork. I heard from them after 10 months to tell me that they lost my paperwork and to start again..

The VA will contact you if and when they have a need for more appraisers.

Thank you very much for taking the time to offer that info. I will definitely give it a try. Last week i finally got through to the person in charge. She wasnt very warm and didnt seem to want to help. i pushed a little more and she gave a little more. but i am not letting this go. I moved here to help the community and wont stop until i do. Re-starting a 30 year business in a strange place is no joke for man my age but i feel confident that things will work out. Thanks again.
