I have a client that came to me urgently needing 4 VA appraisals done right away. I just got my FHA approval but have not even begun to check into doing VA work. Can someone quickly ( readers digest version ) explain to me what would be involved with doing VA Appraisals.

The VA approved list rarely becomes open in our area, and when it does one of the requirements are five years of experience. I think the last time it was open in California was about five years ago. That being said even if you were an approved VA appraiser, you cannot accept assignments on your own. The VA assigns all appraisals on a rotation system. By the way, your client should know that appraisal request are orded by VA, who will then tell them who the assigned appraiser will be. Hope this helps.

Yes, this is very helpful. Thank you so much. I have already passed the info on to my client as to not keep them waiting.
